MINUTES OF THE SIMPSONVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP / SPECIAL VOTING SESSION FEBRUARY 24, 2009 6:30 p.m. City Council Chambers – 118 N. E. Main St .
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Waldrop, Ron Bridges, Brown Garrett, Patty Sanders, Tammy Bagwell, George Curtis and Bruce Larson STAFF PPRESENT: Russell Hawes, City Administrator, David Holmes , City Attorney, Chief Charles Reece; Chief Jess Major; Joe Carter, Robbie Davis, David Dyrhaug, and Melinda Zeller INVOCATION by Councilmember Bruce Larson: PUBLIC HEARING : CDBG AND HOME FUND ALLOCATION CITIZEN COMMENTS : Council received comments from the public. • Lia Wandasiewicz – H & A Tax • Pat Thomas • Gene Norris NEW BUSINESS A. DISCUSSION ITEMS Board and Commission Applications. Motion by Councilmember Bagwell to appoint Ed Schueler to the Board of Zoning Appeals and Ed Brashier to the Planning Commission. Board of Zoning Appeals for a term of 3 years and Planning Commission for a term of 4 years. Motion carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS A. ORDINANCES: 2 ST READING January 2009 Amended Budget for Fiscal Year 2008 – 2009. Motion by Councilmember Curtis to approve January 2009 Amended Budget for Fiscal Year 2008 – 2009. Motion carried unanimously.
B. ACTION ITEMS Ticket/Concession Building Approval. Motion by Councilmember Larson that the City move forward with the grant for Parks and Recreation to build the concession building at Hertiage Park. Motion carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT . Motion by Councilmember Sanders to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
