Prevention and Community Education
The Fire Marshal’s Office, which consist of two personnel (Fire Marshal and Deputy Fire Marshal), is responsible for conducting fire and life safety inspections for the businesses located within the District. The purpose is to ensure that the buildings and tenants are conforming to the most recently adopted version of the International Fire Code (2012). Follow-up inspections are done to make sure violations have been corrected. All businesses that open within the District are required to be inspected prior to occupying the building. The Fire Marshal’s Office also schedules and/or conducts fire safety, fire prevention, and educational activities in conjunction with shift personnel.
