The Simpsonville Planning Commission is composed of seven members appointed by City Council for four-year staggered terms. Each year, the Planning Commission elects its own officers, including a chair and a vice-chair.

What does the Plannning Commission do?

• Prepare and revise comprehensive plans
• Recommend zoning ordinances
• Recommend regulations for the subdivision or development of land
• Recommend an official map and revisions thereto
• Recommend a landscaping ordinance
• Recommend a capital improvements program
• Recommend policies and procedures to implement the comprehensive plan
• Review proposals for the subdivision of land
• Review proposed development on land zoned R-M, PD, or C-1N
• Review proposed bed & breakfast establishments
