The Simpsonville Farmers Market will open for its 2020 season on Saturday with guidelines to protect the public health.

Open at 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at City Park off East Curtis Street, the Farmers Market will operate under rules for social distancing to help prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019. Customers should practice social distancing by keeping a distance of 6 feet from vendors and other customers.

Customers are also required to point to the items that they would like to purchase and not pick up or touch items. Vendors wearing protective gloves will bag selections for customers. "If you touch it, you buy it," a post on the Farmers Market Facebook page said.

Additionally, customers are asked to avoid bringing dogs to the Market to reduce contact between customers. Because Market organizers are expecting a busy opening, only vendors will be allowed to park on the grass behind the Magnolia tree so as to keep as many parking spaces in the adjacent lot open as possible.
