Simpsonville, S.C. — After a successful second season in 2020 despite the pandemic, the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo is back for a third season with a whole new lineup.

Presented by the City of Simpsonville and Simpsonville Arts Foundation Inc. (SAFI), the Music Series, which is free admission, will feature a new band or artist and at least two food trucks every Wednesday* in June, July and August at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park. Food trucks from Mad Cuban and Tacos & Bla Bla Bla will open at 6 p.m., while performances will start at 7 p.m.

Sponsored by Countybank, the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo features a diverse selection of musical genres, including country, funk, rock, rockabilly, Southern rock, covers and tribute bands:

Rising Nashville-based country group Dugger Band performs at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in the 2020 season of the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo. Dugger Band is slated to perform this year in the Music Series on June 9th | City of Simpsonville

Electric violin duo Synergy Twins perform at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in the 2020 season of the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo. Synergy Twins is set to perform this year on June 23rd | City of Simpsonville

Simpsonville Community Relations Specialist Justin Campbell said the City is excited to partner with the Simpsonville Arts Foundation to bring free entertainment to the public.

"Even though the pandemic hit right before the Music Series began last year, the second season was still just as successful as the first one," Campbell said. "The Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo is a great opportunity for free family-friendly outdoor fun. Mark your calendars because the City and SAFI have lined up exciting acts accompanied by popular local food trucks."

The Music Series was able to weather the pandemic in 2020 by implementing social distancing through the drawing of more than 100 circles spread 6 feet apart on the Amphitheatre lawn to designate where families, groups and friends can sit.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the 2020 season of the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo, Simpsonville Parks & Rec staff drew 113 circles that are 6 feet apart and 6 feet in diameter to designate where groups can sit to implement social distancing | City of Simpsonville

The original venue for the Simpsonville Summer Music Series & Food Truck Rodeo was Hendricks Pavilion Amphitheatre near City Park. To implement better social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Music Series was moved to the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park, which allows for a capacity of several thousands of people instead of only several hundreds | City of Simpsonville
