Oktoberfest canceled due to weather

Rain from Hurricane Ian expected to hit Upstate on Friday

Simpsonville, S.C. — The Oktoberfest event originally scheduled for Sept. 30 in downtown Simpsonville has been canceled due to a weather forecast of rain.

With the prediction by the National Weather Service that heavy precipitation will hit the Upstate on Friday, the Simpsonville Arts Foundation, Inc. decided on Wednesday afternoon to cancel the fall celebration planned for Friday night on South Main Street. Residents and visitors are asked to follow NWS for information and updates on the remnants of Hurricane Ian in the Carolinas.
