The City of Simpsonville is seeking the services of a design team consisting of Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Electrical Engineering, and Urban Planning to provide design and construction documents and oversight for its downtown revitalization efforts of Simpsonville.  The scope of the projects to be completed include intersection improvements, streetscape, new streetlighting, hardscape, landscape, and park improvements. The area includes Main Street, South Main Street, Curtis Street, College Street and City Park. The successful firm will work on behalf of the City developing design and construction drawings and specifications for all work to be completed. The successful firm will also provide construction oversight during the duration of the projects and will act as owner’s agent. Qualified firms must demonstrate competence and experience in high profile infrastructure improvements, including but not limited to, assessment of existing conditions, site planning, design, construction drawings, ability to work with other agencies to achieve desired goals, construction requirements, construction management, final inspection, and other services the City deems necessary.  Favorable consideration will be given to firms with the following:  1) proximity to the project location; 2) prior experience with similar projects, including downtown revitalization, road construction, streetscapes, park amenities; 3) qualified personnel in civil engineering, landscape architecture, electrical engineering, and urban planning; 4) ability to meet time and fee schedules established by the City; 5) knowledge of existing conditions in Simpsonville.

$14 million dollar project including streetscape (on Main, South Main, College, Curtis and Maple streets), traffic improvements one-way on Curtis Street and one-way on College Street to help traffic flow), streetlighting, South Main festival street, Swamp Rabbit Trail extension and City Park improvements

A Selection Committee will be formed to review submittals and interview firms/teams that have the greatest deal of experience with these types of projects. City Council will have the final decision on which firm/team will be hired.
