Simpsonville, S.C. — The City of Simpsonville hosted on Tuesday a ribbon cutting for recent improvements to the Simpsonville Activity & Senior Center.

Included in the renovations are kitchen upgrades and expanded outdoor space that will allow Senior Center staff to program more social activities for seniors. The improvements are the first renovations of the building since the Senior Center expanded in 1998.

Involved in the project were Simpsonville Parks & Recreation, Greenville County Redevelopment Authority and the S.C. Office on Aging. Simpsonville Mayor Paul Shewmaker, GCRA Project Manager Joe Smith and S.C. Office on Aging Director Connie Munn spoke at the ribbon cutting.

Renovations to the Senior Center were made possible by the awarding of a Senior Center Permanent Improvement Program grant by the S.C. Office on Aging.
