A grateful fire department
Simpsonville firefighters thank public
Simpsonville, S.C. — The Simpsonville Fire Department and its command staff would like to thank the public for the food and drinks provided at the scene of the South Main Street fire and fire stations.
Chief Wesley Williams said firefighters and command staff are grateful for the public's generosity and thoughtfulness.
"These guys put themselves in harm's way and work long hours because they want to keep the public safe," Williams said. "An unexpected meal from those whom firefighters have sworn to protect means more than anyone could know."
With the assistance of the cities of Fountain Inn and Mauldin, Simpsonville firefighters have been working the scene of a structure fire that started Thursday morning and remained on scene through the night. No injuries were reported, and the fire has been contained.
