New platform truck delivered to fire department
Simpsonville, S.C. — The Simpsonville Fire Department received its new platform truck to add to its fleet on Tuesday.
The truck boasts a platform that rises 100 feet and acts as a secure place from which a firefighter can operate. Platforms can help firefighters extend firefighting measures to otherwise unreachable spaces.
In addition to the new platform truck, firefighting apparatus for the SFD includes a new 107-foot ladder truck, seven engines, a second ladder truck, an additional aerial platform truck, one hazardous materials truck, one heavy rescue truck and one brush truck.
