Movies in the Park 2021 begins in June
'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' kicks off free series
Release Date: April 4, 2021
Simpsonville, S.C. — Dates are now set for the free summer series Movies in the Park at the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park.
Hosted by the Simpsonville Parks & Recreation Department, Movies in the Park will feature three movies throughout June, July and August. The series begins June 8 with a screening of the 1989 classic "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids."
Gates at the Amphitheatre will open at 7:30 p.m., and movies will start at sundown. "Jungle Book" (2016) is scheduled for July 13, and "Parent Trap" is scheduled for Aug. 10.
Outside food and beverages, including coolers, are permitted at the Amphitheatre; alcohol is prohibited at the event. Lawn chairs, blankets and towels are allowed.
Special Events Coordinator Lisa Everidge said the Movies in the Parks series is a perfect opportunity for free family-friendly outdoor fun.
"We're excited about Movies in the Park and hope that families and friends will come out to enjoy the fresh air and a great movie," Everidge said. "Admission is free because Parks & Rec is all about having fun and enjoying the recreation offered by the City."
