City Hall, Simpsonville — The Simpsonville SIMPLY PROUD Cleanup Day will be held on April 20 with volunteers meeting at Simpsonville City Hall at 9 a.m.

Instead of hosting only two citywide cleanup days a year, the City of Simpsonville is now hosting four cleanup days with the one in April being the first of 2024. The increase in citywide cleanup days is part of the new Simpsonville SIMPLY PROUD. Litter Prevention Program, one component of which is litter cleanup.

Volunteers are invited to the public parking lot behind City Hall at 118 N.E. Main St. adjacent to Hedge Street. Simpsonville Community Relations Specialist Justin Campbell will be on site to provide litter cleanup supplies, area assignments and tips for picking up litter.

"The City invites members of the public to volunteer for an hour or two to help make Simpsonville litter-free," Campbell said. "It's about having pride in your community."

People who wish to volunteer are encouraged (but are not required) to complete the short Cleanup Day Volunteer Form so that staff has a good estimate of how many people to expect. Volunteers will also be required to complete the Assumption of Risk & Release Form in order to participate and may do so ahead of time; any volunteers who submit the form prior to Saturday must provide their name to staff the morning of the cleanup to match with one of the submissions.

Updates for the Simpsonville SIMPLY PROUD. Cleanup Day will be provided on the Facebook event page and simpsonville.com.
