Full-Time – Dispatcher – Police

The successful candidate must possess a High School Diploma and completion of required training and education, supplemented by a minimum of one year of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. Must be able to possess a E911 Telecommunication Certification upon being hired.
Under general supervision, answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls. Inputs calls for service into the computer for dispatch to Law Enforcement, EMS or Fire personnel. Maintains radio traffic on a paper log. Enters stolen or missing articles, missing persons and wanted persons into the NCIC computer. Runs driver’s licenses and tags for officers and then gives information back to officers over the radio. Prioritizes calls for service and constantly monitors all radio traffic to ensure officer and firefighter safety. Dispenses excellent customer service to internal and external callers. Handles multiple phone lines. Provides accurate information and prompt service to the general public and department personnel through the implementation of division procedures. Performs various clerical duties in the support of efficient communications division operations. Reports to the Dispatch Supervisor.
