Opioid Response Program

Simpsonville Fire Department Opioid Response Program

The SimpsonvilleĀ Fire Department’s Opioid Response Program is dedicated to preventing opioid overdoses, promoting education, and connecting individuals and families with the resources they need to support recovery. Through partnerships with healthcare providers, schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations, the program works to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to prevention and recovery services.

The program also focuses on providing continued support after an emergency response by helping connect individuals and families to treatment, recovery, and community resources. In addition, the department is expanding its prevention efforts through the distribution of Naloxone (Narcan) throughout the community and by developing a Prescription Drug Take-Back Program to encourage the safe disposal of unused medications and reduce the risk of misuse.

The Opioid Response Program is coordinated byĀ Dee Johnson, MSW, a Greenville native with aĀ Master of Social WorkĀ and a background in community health, case management, and healthcare advocacy. She is passionate about empowering individuals through education, connecting people with local resources, and helping bridge the gap between emergency response and long-term recovery services. Her goal is to ensure that every individual and family has access to the support, education, and resources needed to make informed decisions and improve their quality of life.

Whether you are seeking assistance, looking for community resources, or interested in scheduling an educational presentation for your school, church, business, or organization, we are here to help.
