Council signals intent to finalize contract at February business meeting
Simpsonville, S.C. — The City of Simpsonville is proud to announce its exciting partnership with Opry Entertainment Group (OEG), the newly-selected venue manager of the CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park.
Simpsonville City Council signaled at a special called meeting Tuesday night their intentions to enter a contract with Nashville, Tenn.-based Opry Entertainment Group to provide excellent entertainment services with the highest degree of professionalism and expertise. Mayor Paul Shewmaker said the agreement symbolizes a new day for the Amphitheatre.
“There was a lot of competition for a new venue manager, but Opry Entertainment Group’s commitments to the community and close collaboration with its partners more than made the case for their selection,” said Mayor Shewmaker, who sat on the selection committee to hire new Amphitheatre management. “Our top priority as a City is bringing the best entertainers, events and overall customer service experience to Simpsonville, and with OEG, we’ll do just that.”
A committee appointed by Council and Mayor Shewmaker recommended to Council in December the selection of OEG to manage the CCNB Amphitheatre, the leading outdoor concert venue in South Carolina that hosts major touring acts and community events throughout the year.
“With deep roots in Southern markets and a long history of stewarding iconic live music assets while providing best-in-class experiences for our communities, OEG is honored to have the opportunity to operate CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park,” Opry Entertainment Group CEO Patrick Moore said. “We look forward to becoming long-term members of the Simpsonville community.”
After deliberation in executive session, Council voted 7 to 0 to move a resolution approving an agreement with OEG for the promotion, operation, and management of the Heritage Park Amphitheatre to the Council business meeting on Feb. 10, at which Council will take a final vote to adopt the resolution and therefore approve the contract. The vote by Council at the special called meeting is a preliminary step in the finalization of a contract, a copy of which will be available prior to the February business meeting.
Council voted in December to authorize City Administrator Tee Coker to enter contract negotiations with then-unnamed OEG. Resolution R-2026-01 will be the culmination of those negotiations.
