A zoning ordinance is the formal codification of land use policies for the city. The zoning ordinance regulates the location, size, and use of buildings, structures, and land.
Land Development Regulations
In 1993, the Simpsonville City Council adopted the Greenville County Subdivision Regulations as the standards by which subdivisions within the City limits of Simpsonville would be regulated. Thereafter, this ordinance became known as the Simpsonville Land Development Regulations. These regulations provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Simpsonville.
