Short-term Rentals

Simpsonville City Council recently adopted ordinance O-2025-08 and TX-2025-02 at their October 14th, business meeting, allowing property owners to use their property(s) as a Short-term rental within our residential zoning districts. Short-term rentals or STRs are defined by the city as an un-hosted property for an overnight stay of less than 30 days at a time. There is no application fee for current operators to apply prior to January 12, 2026. Anyone seeking to use their property as a STR needs to apply in our permit portal for a STR Permit as well as apply for a city business license within our business portal.
